Exhibition of Denpasar Endek in Hong Kong

Two designers of Denpasar namely Wayan Ria Mariani (Rhea Cempaka) and Putu Suandewi (Anyar Kebaya) showcased fashion products made from endek fabrics in a prestigious Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer. Promotion of the typical endek of Denpasar took place for four days (Jul. 6-9) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. “I introduce endek as Balinese traditional fabrics,” said Rhea Cempaka.

ISI Denpasar Remains a Favorite

The Indonesia Institute of the Arts (ISI) Denpasar remains popular amongst prospective students as a place to gain knowledge of the arts. In fact the number of applications from new students increases every year. In 2015, there were 723 new students who applied. ISI Denpasar is looking for approximately 500 new students in a variety of departments and study programs. “723 people is quite a lot and means that the ISI Denpasar must select which students get in so as to be in line with their capacities and facilities.” said the Rector of ISI Denpasar, Dr. I Gede Arya Sugiartha, at the local campus recently.

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan New Resort Manager

Sean Mosher has been appointed Resort Manager of Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan. He moves to the mountain retreat from Four Seasons Resort Langkawi in Malaysia, where he held the same position.The Canadian native joined the company in 2002 as Communications Manager for Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver. His career took him to Toronto and then England where he spent six years at Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, working his way up from Assistant Front Office Manager to Rooms Director, before moving with his family to Langkawi in 2012.

It Presents Gong Kebyar Competition

Buleleng Festival (Bulfest) will be held again in 2015. This year, the Bulfest will be held on the upcoming August 4-8. The theme featured is ‘Gurmitaning Den Bukit’ signifying the rumble of music in Buleleng. It is also in accordance with the mission of Bulfest this year namely exploring the art of music in Buleleng.
The type of music explored is ranging from the traditional to modern music. On that account, at the opening of the Bulfest 2015 will be displayed gong kebyar en masse. The Buleleng Culture and Tourism Agency has planned a total of 20 troupes of gong kebyar will appear at the opening.
