Tourism village is the integration between attraction, accommodation and supporting facilities presented in the structure of a society that blends with the procedures and traditions prevailing with the support of two major concepts within the component. The two main concepts include the accommodation in part of local residence and growing units on the concept of residence and attractions that include the entire daily life of the locals along with physical setting of the village that allows the integration of travelers.
In recent years, the concept of tourism villages is getting the interest of many people because this concept can directly affect the life of community (community-based tourism). The workshops attended by more than sixty participants from tourism village business in eight counties and one municipality was officially opened by the Head of the Bali Tourism Office, A.A. Gede Yuniartha Putra represented by Ketut Astra, the Division Head of the Destination Development and Assessment.
In the speech he mentioned that the workshop is expected to produce comprehensive formulation to empower the community through the MSME development to boost the economy from planning, structuring, management and so on facilitated by the government and other components of tourism community. As a result, it is expected to realize the sustainable and competitive MSMEs. In the meantime, Committee Chairman of the Workshop, Ginaldi Gosana, from CoBTA Bali delivers that the workshop aims to participate in developing and advancing the community-based tourism in Bali.
On this occasion the committee invites Nur Fitri from the ILO to provide insight and guidelines regarding the way to handle destination, homestay and guidelines in the management of existing souvenirs at tourism village.
