My name is Anders Kongstad from Aarhus, Denmark. My job is a journalist. It was a very nice opportunity in which I could visit Bali for the second time. Bali gave memorable story for me as a traveler. My first time came to here, was a regular holiday on April 2014. While my second visited, was last month, exactly on November 2014 during the WAN-IFRA World Young Reader Summit in Nusa Dua.
Bali is never bored. The reason I love Bali because of many things. First I love the Balinese culture. It is very exotic compared to the Danish culture and I especially enjoy all the dancing rituals. For example, when the WAN-IFRA event, I and other delegates had a chance to visit Bali TV, one of the company of Bali Post Group.
There, we were welcomed by many Balinese cultural dances. Those were Pendet Dance, the collaboration of Kecak and Fire Dance. The most interesting was Joged Bumbung Dance. At that moment, WAN-IFRA Delegates could join the dance on the stage. I can’t say, what a beautiful and great the dance is! I enjoy watching it, but the story behind the dancing rituals are just as interesting.
The second reason why I love Bali because of the people. They are very friendly, very calm and very open-minded. My impression is that the locals are always willing to help and give insider-tips to visitors and generally. I feel very welcome whenever I visit Bali.
I also love the island. I had only visited Bali and Gili Trawangan, Lombok, but as far as Bali goes, I am in love with the island too. The nature is beautiful, the beaches, the waves are great and the mountains are breathtaking. About the food, hmm… yummy… I really enjoy the Balinese food and my favorite dish is Nasi Goreng Bali.
About my trip in Bali, I had unforgettable experience, exactly when I went to Bali with some of my friends on April 2014. We went on an adventure one day, rented scooters and drove from Ubud to Singaraja Regency through the mountains. In Singaraja, we found a hotel by the water. Suddenly, some fishermen approached us and invited us for some night-fishing. It was completely dark and quiet. On the small fishing boat, the fisherman played guitar and sang "Don't worry, be happy" We were looking at a beautiful clear night sky. Wow, it was a memorable trip with very kind Balinese fisherman.
I love Bali. There is no island that the same like Bali in this world. Because of that, I hope Bali always keep the culture and tradition. Moreover, in this modern era, the spreading of drug dealers is a big problem. Moreover, in Bali as an international tourism area which is visited by many foreign tourists. Bali should make effort in trying to remove the drug dealers from the streets primarily in congested area like Kuta. It means that Bali has big responsibility to keep the safety. Over all, Bali is always saved in my mind. (BTN/ocha)
